The use of marketing and communications is vital in changing drivers behaviour, attitude and feelings of reassurance. The partnership will support the DfT THINK! campaign and the Local Authority Road Safety Officers Association (LARSOA) timetable, whilst also ensuring that appropriate strategic campaigns are developed for the area. It is important that our public know who the Partnership is and how to access its resources. A communications strategy will be developed to raise awareness of the partnership and its aims. The main thrust of this will be to raise public consciousness of the issues.
Coordinated strategic education campaigns will be delivered wherever possible across the partnership area focusing on themes identified from the evidence base and specific to the pan-Cheshire area. Campaigns will be based on sound evidence and targeted at specific roads, towns or other demographics, aimed at road users displaying unsafe behaviours, or in high risk groups (for example young males with passengers).
